โJagjote Singh ACMA, CGMA revealed how business interruption claims are being reshaped by pandemics, cyber events, climate change and changes to business operational models โ highlighting that forensic accuracy is now more critical than ever to ensure credibility and fairness in loss adjusting.

Thangarajah Thangamany shared the principles, challenges, and strategic considerations of effective subrogation, highlighting key factors such as early evidence preservation, clear establishment of causation, and agreement on quantum as critical to achieving successful outcomes.

Nicholas Sykes highlighted the Sky UK v Riverstone case, where the court confirmed that insurance can cover not just damage during the policy period but also certain subsequent deterioration or development damage caused by that damage, reinforcing the need for fair indemnity. He also addressed subrogation, stressing insurersโ rights to recover from third parties and illustrating through recent cases how co-insurance defences are limited and underlying contract terms remain decisive.
