Property Insurance Wordings: London Market and Singapore Perspectives

Property insurance wordings continue to evolve in response to changing risk exposures, underwriting practices, claims experience, and developments in the legal and regulatory environment. For insurance practitioners, it is increasingly important to understand not only what a policy clause states, but also its intended purpose and how it may be interpreted and applied in practice.

Jointly presented by the Singapore College of Insurance (SCI) and the International Underwriting Association(IUA), United Kingdom, this complimentary webinar brings together experienced insurance, wordings and legal specialists to explore property insurance from London Market, Singapore and wider Asian perspectives.

The session will examine developments in the property insurance market, selected policy clauses and wordings, and practical issues arising from their application. Drawing on underwriting, wordings and market experience, the speakers will discuss the rationale behind selected clauses and highlight key considerations for insurance practitioners when reviewing, interpreting and applying property insurance provisions.

The discussion will be complemented by a Singapore and Asian legal perspective, allowing participants to consider how London Market approaches and policy provisions may interact with local legal principles, market practices and approaches to policy interpretation.

Through practical examples and expert discussion, this webinar will help underwriters, brokers, claims practitioners and other insurance professionals develop a deeper and more practical understanding of property insurance wordings and their implications.
