AYIM 2025 – 6 Days of Learning, Leadership & Lasting Impact

What an incredible journey we’ve just experienced at the 16th ASEAN School for Young Insurance Managers (AYIM 2025) in Phnom Penh! Over six immersive days, this premier leadership programme transformed not just skills, but perspectives - nurturing not only future-ready leaders, but true gamechangers for ASEAN’s insurance industry.

From day one, participants dove into a powerful mix of learning, hands-on workshops, networking, collaborating and real-world experiences via each track namely:

  • Strategic Management Practice & Execution for Success – sharpening strategy, prioritisation, and governance to deliver results led by Rangam Bir
  • Talent Management for Strengthening Skills & Capabilities – attracting, developing, and retaining future-ready talent led by Rangam Bir
  • Fortifying Insurance Strategies through Enterprise Risk Management Excellence – building resilience through robust ERM frameworks and governance led by William Song
  • Strategic Financial Management & IFRS 17 – demystifying financial statements and IFRS 17’s implications for insurers led by Shirley Hu
  • ESG & Sustainability – embedding sustainability in strategy and products, with immersive field visits to Oxfam’s women-owned social enterprises and farms, showcasing how inclusive business models empower communities and create real impact led by Illyasak Hazan
  • Leveraging Digital Assets (Technology & Data) to Unlock New Doors in Insurance - exploring AI, data, and digital transformation to unlock new business models and customer engagement led by Rohit Nambiar

Beyond the classroom, AYIM offered cross-cultural immersion, regional networking, and expert insights - uniting emerging leaders across ASEAN to collaborate, innovate, and build bonds that will last well beyond the programme. From collaborative country presentations and dynamic social activities, to the farm visit and the celebratory Closing Ceremony, participants experienced the full spectrum of leadership in action.

Key Takeaways?
