Beyond War: Property & Business Interruption Insurance in an Era of Geopolitical and Catastrophe Risks

Geopolitical conflicts, wars, and large-scale catastrophes are increasingly creating systemic disruptions that extend far beyond physical damage, affecting supply chains, energy markets, construction costs, and business continuity globally. While traditional property and business interruption (BI) insurance frameworks were designed around tangible damage events, modern crises are exposing gaps in coverage, limitations in policy triggers, and challenges in applying exclusions such as war clauses.

This webinar is jointly organised by Singapore College of Insurance and Fenchurch Law, Asia-Pacific. It will move beyond a single conflict to examine how war and catastrophe-type events—whether geopolitical or natural—are reshaping risk profiles, underwriting considerations, and claims outcomes. Participants will gain practical insights into coverage limitations, claims complexities, and strategies to better structure insurance programmes in an increasingly volatile and interconnected risk environment.
